Built to be quick, honest and private.
All processing happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there are no trackers or ads.
No sign-up, no waiting for uploads and downloads. Drop a file, pick options, and download the result.
Merging, splitting and rotating never re-compress your pages. Compression is lossless by default and keeps your original if it can’t help.

Simple, fast and genuinely private PDF tools — made so you never have to upload a sensitive document to a stranger’s server.
Most online PDF websites ask you to upload your file to their servers. For a college form, an ID, a contract or an invoice, that is a lot to trust. Dev PDF takes a different approach: every tool runs inside your own browser, on your own device. The file is opened, changed and saved locally — it is never sent to us or anyone else.
Dev PDF has 30 tools in 7 categories: merge, split, compress, rotate and reorder pages; convert Word, images and HTML to PDF and PDFs to images, Word and text; add page numbers, watermarks and margins; crop, combine, enhance and clean documents; inspect a PDF; crop shipping labels; and listen to a PDF read aloud.
Dev PDF is designed, built and maintained by Arpit Dev, a web developer who prefers tools that respect your privacy. Feedback, bug reports and ideas are always welcome.
arpitdev.pro@gmail.comDev PDF is a static website: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no server-side code. When you choose a file, your browser reads it into memory, the tool processes it using open-source JavaScript libraries, and the result is handed back to you as a download. Close the tab and everything is gone.
| Library | Used for | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| pdf-lib | Creating and editing PDF files | MIT |
| PDF.js (Mozilla) | Rendering pages and reading text | Apache 2.0 |
| JSZip | ZIP downloads and reading .docx | MIT |
| Inter (font) | Typography | SIL Open Font License |
All of these are served from this site itself — no external CDNs. Each library keeps its own licence notice inside its file.

Quick answers about privacy, limits and how the tools behave.
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark on your results and no limit on how many files you process.
Dev PDF is created and maintained by Arpit Dev. You can reach me at arpitdev.pro@gmail.com.
Any recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on desktop, tablet or phone. Very old browsers are not supported.
Please do — use the Suggest a tool form. It goes straight to my inbox.
No. Files are opened and processed inside your browser. They are never sent to a server — which is why Dev PDF can be this private. See the Privacy Policy.
Open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab, and process a file: you will see no upload requests. The site also declares a Content Security Policy that only permits connections to its own files and to Google (used only to deliver the suggestion form to the owner’s Gmail).
You need to be online to load the page. After a tool has loaded, processing itself does not need a connection, but there is no offline mode or installable app.
300 MB per file and up to 60 files at once. Real limits depend on your device’s memory — a phone will handle fewer and smaller files than a laptop.
Some PDFs are already optimised. Dev PDF always keeps your original if the compressed result would be larger, and tells you so. If your file contains big photos, try “Balanced” or “Smallest size”. PDFs that are mostly text or vector graphics rarely shrink much without quality loss.
The “Lossless” level never changes how your pages look. The other levels re-encode large photos as JPEG at a lower quality or size, and only when that makes them clearly smaller. Text, vector graphics and line art are never degraded.
PDF stores positioned text, not flowing paragraphs, so converting back to an editable document is an approximation. Dev PDF extracts text, headings and paragraphs; tables, columns and images are not reproduced. It works best for text-based documents.
Not yet. Scanned pages are images, and Dev PDF does not include OCR. Use “Enhance PDF” to clean up a scan, or a dedicated OCR tool for text recognition.
It reads the .docx and typesets text, headings, lists, tables and basic formatting using standard PDF fonts. Complex layouts, text boxes, headers/footers and images may be simplified, and non-Latin scripts are not supported in this tool. For pixel-perfect results, export to PDF from Word itself.
No. It uses the speech voices built into your browser and plays them live — browsers do not allow that audio to be captured as a file. Available voices depend on your device. Some browsers use online voices that send text to the browser vendor; choose an offline voice if that matters.
Marketplace and courier PDFs often put several shipping labels on one sheet. Label Crop detects each block and creates one label per page in a size such as 4 × 6 in, ready for thermal printers. Always check the result before printing.
Dev PDF cannot open PDFs that require a password or that are corrupted. Try opening and re-saving the file in a PDF viewer first.
Large files with many pages can use a lot of memory, especially when rendering images. Try fewer pages, a lower resolution, or a computer instead of a phone.
Please refresh once. If it persists, email arpitdev.pro@gmail.com with the tool name and your browser — it helps me fix it quickly.

In short: your PDFs and images are processed on your own device and are never uploaded. Dev PDF uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. The only data that ever leaves your browser is what you choose to type into the suggestion form.
When you select a file, your browser reads it into its own memory and the tool processes it with JavaScript running on your device. The file and the result are not sent to Dev PDF, to Arpit Dev, or to any third party. Closing or refreshing the page discards them. Results are offered as downloads created locally by your browser.
localStorage).Dev PDF sets no cookies and has no user accounts.
There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. All code and fonts are served from this site itself; Dev PDF does not load anything from external CDNs. The pages include a Content Security Policy that restricts which servers their code may contact — only this site and Google’s mail script used for the suggestion form.
This tool uses your browser’s built-in speech synthesis. Some browsers offer online voices (for example, certain Google or Microsoft voices) that send the text being spoken to the browser vendor’s service. If that matters to you, choose a voice labelled as local/offline, or don’t use this tool for confidential text.
If you use the suggestion form, the information you type (the type of message, tool or feature name, details, and your email if you give one), the page you sent it from, and basic browser information are delivered by email to Arpit Dev at arpitdev.pro@gmail.com through a small Google Apps Script running in the owner’s own Google account, so it is handled by Google (Gmail) under Google’s privacy policy and is not passed to any other service. I use it only to read, reply to, and improve Dev PDF; I don’t sell or share it. Your email address is optional. To have a message deleted, email arpitdev.pro@gmail.com.
If you email me directly, I receive whatever you send, along with your email address.
Dev PDF is delivered by a web host. Like any host, it may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, requested page and browser type) for security and operations, according to the host’s own policy. These logs do not contain your files.
Dev PDF is a general-purpose tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the date above will be updated.

Drop two or more PDFs, drag them into the order you want, and download a single merged file. Pages keep their original quality.
Split one PDF into several. Define your own ranges, split every N pages, or pick pages visually — then download them one by one or as a ZIP.
Click pages in the preview or type a range such as 1-3, 7. Keep the selection, or remove it and keep the rest.
See every page as a thumbnail. Drag to reorder, rotate individual pages, duplicate or delete them, and save the result as a new PDF.
Fix sideways or upside-down pages. Rotate everything at once, only odd or even pages, or any page on its own — without re-compressing anything.
Need to fit an email or upload limit? Split a PDF into a set number of parts, or into parts that stay under a size you choose.
Dev PDF looks at every page, highlights the ones that are blank, and lets you confirm before removing anything.
Add your pictures, put them in order, choose page size and margins, and get a clean PDF. Photos from phones are rotated correctly.
Converts the text, headings, lists, tables and basic formatting of a .docx file. Complex layouts and embedded images are simplified — see the notes on the tool.
Paste or upload HTML or plain text and generate a neat PDF with headings, lists and tables. Non-Latin scripts such as Hindi are supported too.
Render any or all pages to high-quality images. Choose format and resolution, then download one by one or as a ZIP.
Works best with text-based PDFs. Text, headings and paragraphs are rebuilt as an editable Word document; exact layout, tables and images are not reproduced.
Pull the text out of any text-based PDF, preview it, copy it, or download it as a UTF-8 .txt file.
Finds the pictures embedded in your PDF and saves them as PNG or JPG. Repeated images are saved once.
Plays your PDF as speech using the voices built into your browser. Choose a voice and speed, and start from any page. Audio is generated live on your device and cannot be saved as a file.
Stamp page numbers wherever you want them, in formats like “Page 3 of 12”. Skip a cover page and keep the numbering right.
Add a text watermark with your own colour, opacity and angle. Works with any language, including Hindi, Arabic and Chinese.
Grow each page with blank margins (nothing is resized), or keep the page size and scale the content down.
Set how much to trim from each side while watching a live preview, or let Dev PDF find the content area for you.
Arrange several pages on each sheet for handouts and cheaper printing. Choose paper size, order and borders.
Make a PDF print in gray. Keep it fully vector so text stays sharp and selectable, or convert pages to gray images.
Improve scanned or photographed documents with a live preview: even out the background, adjust contrast, sharpen text, or convert to black and white.
See and edit the document information stored in a PDF, or wipe it for privacy.
Reduce PDF size while protecting quality. Lossless structure clean-up is always applied; optional levels re-encode oversized photos only where it helps. If the result is not smaller, you keep your original.
Switch images between JPG, PNG and WebP, shrink them to a smaller size or dimension, and download one file or a ZIP. If re-saving would make a file bigger, your original is kept.
Strip unwanted extras before sharing: document info, comments, links, scripts, embedded files, bookmarks, thumbnails, and flatten forms.
Get a clear report of what is inside a PDF: page sizes, fonts, images, annotations, forms, scripts and whether it is scanned. Download the report as text.
Marketplace and courier PDFs often put several labels on a page. Dev PDF finds each block and gives you one label per page, sized for thermal printers.
Add PDFs and images together, put them in order, and get one PDF. Images become full pages with your chosen size.
Combine PDFs with pages of text you type (any language) — handy for cover notes or dividers — and download one merged PDF.
That page doesn’t exist. See all PDF tools.
