About Listen to PDF: free, private and in your browser

Listen PDF reads a PDF aloud using the speech voices already built into your browser or phone. Choose the voice, speed and starting page, then press play; you can pause and resume at any time. The text is extracted locally, so the document is not uploaded by Dev PDF. It is free, needs no account and works well for proofreading, studying on the go, or giving your eyes a rest. Please note two honest limits. The audio cannot be saved as a file, because browsers do not allow speech output to be captured. And some browsers offer online voices that send the spoken text to the browser vendor’s service; if that matters to you, choose a voice marked as local or offline. Scanned PDFs have no text to read, and Dev PDF does not include OCR. Available voices and languages depend on your device. For copying the text instead, use PDF to Text.
